What is Dabble?

Dabble is an eco-friendly delivery service operating across North Leeds. We collect items from your high street and bring them to your door on one of our zero emissions cargo bikes. Teaming up with independent shops and local producers, we make it easier than ever for people to support their community and shop locally in the greenest way possible.

What can I buy on Dabble?

All sorts! You can choose items from a wide range of local shops, covering all the essentials like bread, milk, meat, fruit and vegetables, along with treats and gifts - things like beer, wine, coffee, cakes, cheese, flowers and toys. You can select items from multiple shops and have them all delivered at the same time. See our Suppliers page for a full list of every shop we work with, or head straight over to our online Shop to browse products from your local high street.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to homes across Chapel Allerton, Meanwood and Roundhay. We’re keen to continue expanding our delivery area, so keep an eye on our social media feeds for all the latest updates.

Deliveries

How do you make your deliveries?

We deliver all our orders using electric cargo bikes. We transport your shopping in reusable crates with no plastic bags.

Why do you use cargo bikes?

Not only are they fast, versatile and weather-proof, cargo bikes produce no emissions and can carry up to 100kg of shopping. They can also reach places regular delivery vans can’t, and we get to avoid heavy traffic by taking cycle lanes. Oh, and they help us keep nice and fit. So the real question is, why wouldn't we use cargo bikes?

What happens during my delivery?

Upon arrival, your Dabble delivery rider will knock on your door or ring your doorbell. If there’s no answer, they’ll phone the contact number you provided. Your delivery rider will then bring your shopping inside and unload it for you, or unload it on your doorstep if you prefer.

What do you do if I’m not home?

We advise you to choose a delivery time when you’ll definitely be at home. We’ll always try and call you if there’s no answer at your door. We’re currently developing plans to enable customers to assign a safe place to leave their shopping, but for now we need to deliver to you personally. 

How much is delivery?

We charge a flat rate of £3.45.

When do you deliver?

We deliver our veg boxes on a Tuesday afternoons and everything else on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday. So for example, if you order a veg box, meat and a bottle of wine for delivery on Thursday 2-4pm. The veg box would arrive Tuesday afternoon, everything else between 2-4pm on Thursday. We receive our veg on Tuesday from our wholesaler so we like to pack the veg boxes and deliver them ASAP to ensure absolute maximum freshness for our customers. By delivering the veg boxes separately it also means you don't need to be home on a Tuesday for your delivery as there is no meat in the order. We can leave the box in a safe place for you. 

How quickly can you deliver?

The fastest we deliver is 48 hours. The more our platform develops, the likelier we’ll be able to bring this time down. You can select a 2 hour delivery window up to a week in advance - simply choose a time you know you’ll be at home.

What’s your delivery area?

We currently deliver to homes around Chapel Allerton, Meanwood and Roundhay.

Placing Orders

What’s the minimum order for delivery?

There’s no minimum order for delivery - you can do a full weekly shop or just grab a couple of items.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards. We don’t accept cash or cheque as all payments must be made through our website.

What happens if some of my items are not in stock?

If some of the items you’ve selected are out of stock, we’ll let you know and ask you to amend your order.

Can I cancel my order?

Returns & Refunds

Can I return perishable items?

Yes, as long as you tell your delivery rider immediately. Before accepting your delivery you should check you’re happy with all your fresh produce. If something’s not right, tell your delivery rider - they’ll return your produce to the shop and refund the money back to you. If you don’t let your delivery rider know during the drop-off, you won’t be able to return any perishable goods after they’ve left.

Can I return non-perishable items?

Yes. You can return most non-perishable items within two weeks of delivery. Items should be in the original package. Returns can be carried out by sending an emailing to hello@dabbledelivery.com. Some hygiene products (e.g. toothbrushes, underwear etc.) cannot be returned. 

How long do refunds take to process?

Refunds usually take up to 4 days to process, but this time may vary. We’ll always do what we can to make any refunds as quick and painless as possible.

Managing My Account

How do I set up a Dabble account?

Click the sign-in button in the top right hand corner of our website. If you don’t yet have an account, you’ll be prompted to create one. All you need is a valid email address, a postal address within our delivery zone, a credit or debit card and a contact phone number.

What should I do if I forget my password?

If you’ve forgotten your password, simply click the ‘forgotten password’ link when signing into your account and we’ll email you with further instructions.

What should I do if I forget my username?

If you’ve forgotten your username, please email hello@dabbledelivery.com

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account by emailing hello@dabbledelivery.com and we’ll arrange it for you as soon as possible.

Can I request my data?

Yes. You can request your data by emailing hello@dabbledelivery.com

What happens if I move house?

You can change your address on your account page. Just remember - your updated delivery address must continue to fall within the delivery area for your high street for you to continue enjoying our service.

Sustainability and the Environment

What makes you eco-friendly?

We first came up with the idea for Dabble when we discovered 20% of all UK car journeys are under 1 mile. We made it our mission to help people cut down on those short, unnecessary car journeys, such as popping to the shops when you feel pressed for time. By carrying out all our deliveries on zero emission cargo bikes, we’re able to help all our customers make greener choices and contribute to tackling climate change.

What’s your stance on single-use plastic?

The shops we partner with avoid single-use plastic wherever possible. Sometimes it’s unavoidable, so you may see some plastic on occasion (e.g around a cucumber to help keep it fresh). We never use plastic bags - Dabble will always deliver your order in reusable plastic crates that we take away with us once your delivery is complete.

How else are you green?

We always source our products from businesses that are as local to our delivery areas as possible. As part of our product range, we also offer a selection of vegan, vegetarian and organic items. We also reuse and recycle where possible.
